The people behind WEKA-MCP

Built by two people

WEKA-MCP is shaped by two people, each bringing a different craft. One built the technical foundation, while the other shaped its identity, interface, and overall experience.

    Engineering

Currently completing his Master’s in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Waikato.

Built both services: the TypeScript MCP server that exposes 46 typed tools and the Java service that connects to WEKA and runs the machine-learning workflows. He also wrote the Bicep infrastructure for deploying the system on Azure Container Apps, including internal-only ingress that keeps the machine-learning service off the public internet.

    Design

A product designer based in the Netherlands who loves both design and code. She enjoys experimenting with AI, building with it, and turning early ideas into AI-powered experiences.

She shaped the visual identity, interface, and user experience of WEKA-MCP, translating complex machine-learning concepts into a clear and approachable experience. The visual system stays connected to WEKA’s technical heritage while making the project easier to understand, explore, and use.

Built on decades of research

The machine learning at the heart of this project comes from WEKA, developed by researchers at the University of Waikato and continuously improved since 1993.

WEKA-MCP does not replace that work. It creates a clearer, typed connection to the WEKA library, making its classifiers and workflows accessible through modern AI-assisted tools. The machine-learning foundations belong to the WEKA team.
